Cassandra Clare – Clockwork Princess Audiobook

Clockwork Princess Audiobook (The Infernal Devices, #3) – By Cassandra Clare
text

I will admit that I did not have as much enthusiasm for the first two volumes of this trilogy as for the main saga. I liked it but it was not the favorite, on the other hand this third volume was just extraordinary. This novel demonstrates the extent oftalent Cassandra Clare’s to write fantastic series and, incidentally, turn our brains out.

We continue to follow, Tessa, Will and Jem in London. This somewhat unlikely trio will experience many twists and turns and the only one you can be sure of: they will suffer. (At the same time, it’s Cassandra Clare…) I will not go into my summary since it is a third volume.

I couldn’t let go of this novel, I think I finished it at something like 2am, but really from a certain point in the book everything goes on without being able to stop. We go from laughter to tears in no time!

The characters are so characteristic … I told you in my column of the first volume that the characters reminded me strangely of those of TMI, but particularly in this volume they stood out. Tessa is a strong young woman who adapts to her situation, who fights … what I mean is that she is a real heroine, not the nunuche type who spends her life wondering who she is with is getting married. I’m not going to lie to you, there is a love triangle, but it’s so well written! I am really attached to the two male characters – either Jem and Will -, I can not say which I prefer, on the one hand there is Jem, who is gentleness, an incredible courage and who despite all his problems, gives a lot to others. And on the other hand, Will reveals another part of himself to us, he is a little less hateful in this volume since we get to know her without her shield. (What I’m saying might sound very confusing, but if you’ve read this book I think you understand what I’m trying to say) And then there’s the Lightwood brothers, Gideon and Gabriel, who are just hilarious ( and so cute ^^).

I also found that the story was darker than the previous ones, there were passages that frankly made you want to vomit (the glamor always present in my chronicles of course ^^). It reflects the evolution that we also find in TMI, the last volumes are darker than the first.

I was telling you at the beginning of the incredible talent of Cassandra Clare; I was like crazy reading this book: everything is linked! Besides the winks made to the main saga (mainly through Magnus), but here we discover links between the two sagas which make us see the first with new eyes.

And yet, when I think about it, I tell myself that we don’t need to read both sagas to read one or the other (clarity ^^).

I realize that this is more a declaration of love than a chronicle ^^

In short, I recommend this trilogy to you 200%!
