The novel The Fault in Our Stars tells the story of two teenagers with cancer. Hazel Grace Lancaster (the main character) is 16 years old. Her parents force her to attend a support group, where she meets Augustus Waters, who has osteosarcoma and is in remission. The two teenagers are passionate about a novel by Peter Van Houten, which ends abruptly in the middle of a sentence. Curious about what happens to the characters, Hazel and Augustus travel to Amsterdam to meet the author. A love story is created between the two patients.
It’s a story that talks about cancer without really talking about it … What I mean is that, yes, Hazel has this disease, but the novel is more about the fact that we have to appreciate what l ‘we have. This John Green – The Fault in Our Stars Audiobook made me think of a quote that I love … “Learn to appreciate what you have before time makes you appreciate what you had …” But, first of all, it’s a love story! John Green managed to deal with a serious and extremely sad subject while making us alternate, laugh and cry! The characters are so endearing! And what about Augustus… We want him to be our boyfriend !!!

NPR believes the book and film are perfect for young teens. The Washington Post praises the authenticity of the characters7.

The Fault in Our Stars tops the list of best fiction books of 2012 by Time8 magazine. It is in 3rd place in the selection of the best novels for young people of 2012 published by Babelia, the cultural supplement of the Spanish newspaper El País9.

According to critics, the greatest merit of the film as of the book is their way of talking about death. In both works, Hazel questions the time she has left to live and wonders if she is able to fall in love.10

It’s well written and easy to read. It’s unlike any other book I’ve read. In short, a touching and profound novel which, we will not hide it, made many cry! (Including me!
