Stephen King – The Eyes of the Dragon Audiobook
1987 Stephen King – The Eyes of the Dragon Audiobook read by Bronson Pinchot
“Angels may be safe from damnation, but for humans, hell is never far away. ”
An ancestral plot hangs over all echelons of power in Delain, a peaceful ex-monarchy straight out of a fantasy novel (which it is), and manipulated by an unhealthy and unscrupulous royal advisor. Stephen King – The Eyes of the Dragon Audiobook .
After the murder of his father King Roland the Good, Peter is the victim of a not-so-accidental miscarriage of justice and is imprisoned at the top of the tallest tower in the kingdom … leaving the field open to the aforementioned Councilor Flagg and his puppet Thomas, a budding king far too young and easily influenced.
Peter will have to redouble his ingenuity to escape his jail and save Delain from the clutches of Flagg the psychopath.
I was very pleasantly surprised by this little book by Stephen King. I had initially bought it for a friend who returned it to me a little later in spite of myself (another story), and expected a fairy tale without much pretension, but ultimately the plot is very complex and we gets caught up in the game quickly.
The story conceals no downtime, and goes from twists to twists and turns. Every detail from the beginning is likely to be of importance for the rest, awakening our senses as readers: D. The characters are very endearing, and we tremble with them under Flagg’s threat. I understand that the eyes of the dragon was used as a prequel to the cycle of the dark tower, I intend to look into it soon.
Charming to note that we can ‘also’ read children’s stories with Stephen King, an extraordinary metronome who, now indefatigable, after having tried and wiped on several genres is now equipped with all the cards of literature . Heart asset: youth.
Without really criticizing this book, – to be appreciated according to your reading habits – I will only qualify it as a nice little fable, quite desirable and notable for the occasion of pointing it out. Fabulous ?
No. But miraculous to be signed King.
I can already hear in the distance the echo of the voices of dismayed, ulcerated and horrified parents to put in the hands of their charming toddler a “S.K” exclaim:
– “What, the awful man who dares to massacre and give dinner to a Machiavellian clown of children?” That’s it, that’s it, don’t laugh too much, but be careful all the same to the eventualities of sidewalks closing Floating Balloons or other photo album whose pages come alive as if by magic.
Yes, but hey, the difference above all; it is the ease, the style, the heroic-fantasy that ends up seducing us even without being particularly partisan of this genre.
Because obviously you read it with curiosity to ‘see’, necessarily you will finish it to know the outcome of the story.
This is why my faith it is right to underline its success and to do justice to this title. :
All the accuracy and finesse, the address and the quality expressed which wants to be congratulated for being in the right tone. An unequivocal note for a writer vioc who takes the time to enlighten himself on. that kind of path.
Summary: the kingdom of Delain is ruled by a king neither good nor bad, who has two children, Peter and Thomas. Peter represents the future of the kingdom, because he is the future king, and has undeniable qualities, which augur well for a good future for the kingdom. But that’s without counting on the Machiavellian shenanigans of Flagg, the king’s obscure adviser …
My opinion: by Stephen King, I only knew the horror titles, but it totally changes register in “The eyes of the dragon”, which is a fantastic tale, putting forward the fate, the role of the chance, and the cyclical return of evil in human lives.
Right from the start, the narrator tells us what’s going to happen, so there’s no suspense there, other than knowing what the possible end of the adventure is going to be. The whole story is based on the quality of the narration, the description of the details, the atmosphere, the character of each one, and the evil that often wanders next to each human, to push him to commit abuses and bring out his worst instincts.
Fortunately, some men do not live under its influence, and keep a pure and courageous heart. Stephen King – The Eyes of the Dragon Audiobook .
A beautiful story, both a philosophical fable, and a tale tinged with fantasy, which in fact shows the depths of the human soul. An interesting book for our college students to read, to give another vision of this very famous author.
